IMIS Officers
C.G. Alexandrides, President of IMIS
Dr. C. G. Alexandrides is Professor Emeritus of Management at Georgia State University and President of the International Market Information System, Inc., (IMIS) www.imis-inc.com. He taught management and international business courses at GSU for over 30 years, and served as Director of the United Nations Program at the New School for Social Research in New York, Chairman of the UN Lectures at NYU, a visiting professor at UMKC and the University of Georgia, and an academic advisor to KUKUM in Malaysia. He published several books and publications in international trade and business. He was awarded the Founders Award of New York University.
Alexandrides served the United Nations as an Economic Development Officer in New York and Korea. He served as a UN correspondent and an advisor to a UN delegation. A consultant to World Trade Centers Association and the WTC Institute and a Board Member of the World Trade Center of Atlanta. He was awarded the international legacy award of the World Trade Center Atlanta in 2012.
Dr. Alexandrides has assisted international companies in international business development, including Bell South International, Caterpillar World Corporation, Coca-Cola, Litton Industries, Nissho Iwaii, the World Trade Centers Association and Westinghouse International. He was awarded grants from the US Department of Commerce to assist the export expansion of 15 US States, and was recognized in the President's E Star Award for export services. The Governments of China (MOFERT), Japan (JETRO) and Greece (HOPE) awarded contracts to Alexandrides for export research, publication and training.
Dr. Alexandrides served as advisor to Governor Jimmy Carter and published several books on export expansion. He also served as a campaign coordinator in the Presidential Campaign of Jimmy Carter. Previously, he had served as media coordinator for Governor Nelson Rockefeller.

Barbara L. Bowers, Director of Research
The Director of Research, Barbara L. Bowers, has been with IMIS since 1973, when it was a project of the Southern Consortium for International Education. She received her bachelor's degree from Georgia State University, and helped develop the statistical research and narrative analysis capabilities of IMIS. She has co-authored many publications and a book with Dr. Alexandrides, and has also published several articles on countertrade and offsets.
AT THE CANADIAN EXPORT EXHIBITION, Alexandrides with Barbara Bowers and Canadian trade officials. Bowers, formerly on the staff of the GSU Library, joined IMIS as Director of Research, when it was the Southern Consortium of International Education, consisting of the five major universities in Georgia.
